Short version: this site barely collects anything, and it sells nothing about you. Here's the full accounting.
What this site collects
Top Appliance Brands has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment sections, and no analytics scripts. You can read every page without telling the site who you are, and the site doesn't try to figure it out behind your back.
The one thing it stores is a single functional cookie namedretailer. If you flip the Lowe's/Amazon toggle, that cookie remembers which retailer you prefer (literally just the word "lowes" or "amazon") so the site shows the right buttons on your next visit. It holds no identifier, expires after one year, is never shared with anyone, and the site works fine if you block or delete it — you'll just see the default retailer again.
Hosting logs
Like nearly every site on the internet, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and uptime monitoring. Those logs are the hosting provider's routine operation, not a profile of you, and this site doesn't mine them for marketing. This site is hosted by DreamHost, whose own privacy practices govern those logs.
Affiliate links and other sites
The "Check price" buttons send you to the product's page on Lowe's or Amazon. Once you land there, that retailer's own privacy policy and cookies take over; what Lowe's or Amazon collects on their pages is governed by them, not by this site. The same goes for any other outbound link. If those links later carry an affiliate tag, the tag tells the retailer the visit came from here and nothing about who you are.
Children
This site is a catalog of appliance recommendations. It isn't directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes
If the site ever starts collecting more than described here — say, adding privacy-respecting analytics — this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top. No silent expansions.
